Discounts
Discounts
are available to students taking 3 or more classes, families
taking a combined 3 or more classes and to families that wish
to make one full annual payment by the end of September.
Payment
Information
You
have four options: Standard Monthly Payments, Two Equal Payments,
One Lump Sum and Late Arrivers Lump Sum:
Standard
Monthly Payments: If you look at the calendar from
the start date to our recital date, there are 40 weeks. If
you take one week out for Christmas break, one week out for
February break, one for April and one for Thanksgiving (I
know that isn't a full week but we do close more on Mondays
than any other day too), that makes 36 weeks in a year then
divide by 10 months. The 10 includes June's payment. We
could divide by 9 months instead, but it increases the monthly
tuition. We extended the payments out to June. Basically,
you're always paying the exact standard hourly rate, but with
different dividing numbers. Remember though, the more you
dance, the lower your hourly rate goes.
Two
Equal Payments: If you choose, we can give you a discount
on your total tuition charge if you pay semi-annually. We
take 4% off your total bill and then divide by two. The first
payment would be due October 1st and the second would be due
February 1st. If payment is late a 2% fee will be added. If
payment is not received by Feb. 15th an additional 2% will
be added.
One
Lump Sum: If you choose, we can total up your tuition
and then take 8% off. Your tuition will be due at the time
of registration, for some, it could save you a lot of money.
Late
Arrivers Lump Sum: For those of you who join late
in the season, but before December 22nd, we will total your
tuition left until the recital and then take 6% off. Your
payment is due at that time.
Showcase
All
students who register in the fall are encouraged to participate
in our Annual Spring Showcase. Because all group dances are
dependent on each persons participation, Strike It Up!
requires a written notification before
November 1st of any student wishing to NOT participate.
Costume
Payments
If
you are participating in the showcase, you will be charged
for a costume and tightsin the beginning of the year for each
class you will be participating in the showcase with. Each
month you will be paying a portion of your total costume and
tights bill. This payment will continue for the 10 months
unless you do fundraisers or pay off your balance early.
Showcase
Fee
Each
family participating in the recital will be required to pay
a Showcase Fee of $65.00. This fee is also broken down
over 10 months ($6.50 per month). With this fee each family
will receive 2 tickets to the showcase. Additional tickets
will be available for friends and family. Explanation of this
fee is available upon request.
Refund
Policy
There
are no refunds for missed classes. The studio will make every
attempt to arrange make up classes due to bad weather or teacher
absences. The make up classes will be at the discretion of
the teacher.
Class
Cancellations
Strike
It Up! will not necessarily close for snow days, regardless
if the area schools are closed. This decision will be found
on the Strike It Up! Artistic Center Website (www.strikeitupartisticcenter.com/cancellations.htm)
and the studio answering machine by 3 p.m. the day of the
cancellation. The studio will make every attempt to make up
classes due to bad weather but may not be able to due to time
slot availability.
Student
Withdrawal
A
written notice is required 2 weeks prior to withdrawing from
classes. If the withdrawal notice is not received, the student
will continue to be charged.
Studio
Store
Strike
It Up! can offer the opportunity to order shoes, recital costumes,
music supplies, showcase gifts, art supplies, and specialty
items on a full time basis through our studio store, S.I.U.
Essentials. We will keep a limited inventory of basic
dance and fitness clothing. We do this as a convenience to
our students.
Dance
Attire
All
students are required to wear appropriate dance clothing to
every class. Jeans, baggy pants, khaki pants, shorts, and
sweatshirts are not acceptable. Feel free to be stylish within
the realm of reason. There is a strict dress code for all
ballet classes: Pink or Tan Tights, Black Leotard, and Ballet
Skirt. Hair is to be pulled back, tied up and off the face
for all classes.
